Discovery Ridge, Calgary neighbourhood overview

Discovery Ridge is located south of Glenmore Tail (Highway 8), west of 69th Street. The community will have improved access to the Rockies when the Stoney Trail extension is built. Residents enjoy both mountain and Elbow Valley views.
Public board pupils go to Jennie Elliott Elementary in Lakeview, and Central Memorial High on 50th Avenue SW.
Separate board students attend St. Michael Elementary in Westgate, St. Michael Junior High , and either St. Mary's High downtown or Bishop Carroll High on Crowchild Trail.
Sierra Square and West Hills Towne Centre are the area's closest big shopping centres, with lots of stores, restaurants, a 10-screen movieplex, a Safeway and a Revelstoke Home Centre. Signal Hill Shopping Centre, just north of West Hills will contain a Superstore, Zellers and the first library in the area.
There are extensive parklands throughout the neighbourhood, which adjoins the Elbow River. There is a 10 screen multiplex cinema in nearby West Hills Town Centre, and two golf courses just west of the community, with several more further west along Highway 8. Cross Country skiing and snowmobiling & 4-wheel driving are found a half hour west in Bragg Creek.
The homes in these neighbourhoods are Move-up and Executive/Estate homes.
