This community is on the east side of the Bow River and west of Deerfoot Trail, and south of the 22X Marquis of Lorne Trail. Very good access to Downtown and shopping via Deerfoot Trail.
Public school students attend McKenzie Lake Elementary, Willow Park Elementary, R.T. Alderman Junior High in Maple Ridge, and Lord Beaverbrook High on Fairview Drive.
Separate school students attend Cardinal Newman Elementary/Junior High on McKenzie Lake Boulevard, and Bishop Grandin High in Haysboro.
The area has its own strip mall on Cranston Boulevard, with additional stores in nearby McKenzie Towne. There's also Douglas Square up the Deerfoot, and to the north in Douglas Glen. The largest area shopping centre is the "big box" shopping area with a movie multiplex in Shaughnessy off Macleod Trail, via 22X.
There are over 20 acres of parkspace within the first five phases of development and over 2 km of pathways winding throughout the community, connecting various parks and tot-lots. In addition to all of this lush greenspace, residents can quickly access Fish Creek Park via the regional pathway connection at the end of Cranleigh Gate.
Chinook Nature Park, a new park is located south of the escarpment and a recent addition to Fish Creek Park are adjoining, with a pedestian bridge to Lake Sikome, Fish Creek and to Calgary's extensive recreational pathway system. to the north is the McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, on the bank of the Bow River, to the south via Deerfoot Trail (#2 Highway) Are Carnmoney, Cottonwood and Heritage Pointe golf clubs.
