This part of Coquitlam is adjoining Burnaby, hence its name, and includes other similar neighbourhoods (from north to south) including Oakdale, Burquitam, Brookmere, and Cariboo. This community has excellent SkyTrain access at Lougheed Town Centre.
There are lots of shopping centres, straddling the municipal boundaries between Coquitlam, Burnaby and New Westminster.
This neighbourhood ha 5 elementary schools and one secondary school, with a library close-by in Burnaby. The neighbourhood is home to Coquitlam College, and Douglas College's New Westminster (main) campus and Simon Fraser University's campus in Burnaby are not far away.
This community has a number of smaller parks scattered around. Nearby there are the Place Des Arts art centre, a Silver City multiplex cinema, and the Boulevard Casino with its 1,074-seat Red Robinson Show Theatre. For gofers, there is the private Vancouver Golf Club and the Eaglequest Golf nearby. Not far to the northwest is the Trans-Canada Trail which treks up Burnaby Mountain's forested slopes.
This area is mostly single-family homes, though there are lots of low- and highrise condos on the western edge in Burquitlam near Lougheed Mall.
