Southeast Kelowna neighbouhood - Okanagan Valley
These communities lie to the southeast of Kelowna's city centre, nestled between Mission Creek and Highway 33, east of Mission, and include the areas of Springfield/Spall, along KLO Road, and Westbridge, Beaverdell, Carmi and the Christian Valley. This area has about 27,000 residents.
Springfield / Spall ranges from Gordon Drive to Mission Creek and from Highway 97 to Bernard Avenue and includes Kelowna's major shopping centers. The area is flat, making it a great neighbourhood for walking to the nearby amenities.
South East Kelowna is situated from Mission Creek to the southern most part of Kelowna and from Swamp Road to Gallagher's Canyon. This area offers some wonderful view homes and lots. The homes in here tend to be in the higher price range.
Beaverdell-Carmi is the area south and east of the Summit of Highway 33, includes the neighbourhoods of Westbridge, Beaverdell, Carmi and the Christian Valley. Beaverdell, about an hour's drive east of Kelowna has a population of about 350, and is near a cluster of 16 small lakes that attract thousands of visitors annually.
This area is served by School District 23: Central Okanagan had has 5 elementary schools (1 with French immersion), 2 middles schools (one with French immersion), and 2 high schools (one with French immersion). Beaverdell has an elementary school (to grade 3) and older students are bused to nearby middle and secondary schools.
This are is home to the Capri Mall, Spall Plaza, Orchard Park and Dilworth Center as well as a Costco and Home Depot. There are lots of grocery stores, financial institutions restaurants and pugs.
Beaverdell has a business district includes The Beaverdell Hotel, a general store, a couple gas stations and other shops, and several restaurants that serve home-cooked meals.
The area features some of Kelowna's best golfing including Mission Creek Golf Club, Gallagher's Canyon, McCulloch-Orchard Greens and the Harvest Golf Club. Sutherland Hills and Mission Creek Regional Parks are also located within its boundaries. South East Kelowna touches on McCulloch and Idabell Lakes. The area is also home to the KLO Land & Orchards, and the South Kelowna Community Recreation Society
Springfield/Spall has a variety of single-family homes, condominiums, and townhouses, with some gated higher-end communities, as well as some retirement communities.
South East Kelowna is primarily a residential/rural area on benchland with single family homes and acreages among orchards and farmland, and many homes have gorgeous lake, city, and orchard views.
The Beaverdell-Carmi area is small, and consists of mainly single family homes, hobby farms, acreages etc.
