  • Milton, with 45,000 residents, is located alongside the picturesque Niagara Escarpment, just south of the 401. Milton has a GoTrain/bus station connecting the community to Toronto. It is the centre of Halton Region, and nicely combines urban and rural lifestyles. It has a strong and diversified industrial base, with easy access to highways, rail and air transportation. providing jobs in the community. Milton has nearly doubled in population in the past five years and is forecast to redouble by 2021.

    Its quaint and historic main street focuses an engaged community life that merges easily with vibrant new residential and industrial communities, abundant natural and man-made recreational resources and an active farming culture.

    Schools
    The town has 11 elementary schools, two high schools, a school for the deaf, and a public library. The region's post-secondary institutions are a short drive away, including Hamilton's McMaster University, with Oakville's Sheridan College and University of Toronto's Mississauga campus, and McMaster University's upcoming Burlington campus.

    Shopping
    Milton Mall Loblaws, on Bronte Road The town's shopping, mostly small stores as well as three small malls, is clustered along Ontario St (Regional Route 25)

    Recreation
    Kelso Lake view, west of Milton The town is close to several conservation areas, with rock climbing, triathlons, horseback riding and BMX facilities. Kelso Conservation Area is home to the Glen Eden Ski Area and the Farm Museum, Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area and Crawford Lake Conservation Area have stunning views of and from the Niagara Escarpment. There are several town-run sports facilities including indoor & outdoor swimming pools, and ice arenas. The town also has a fairgrounds, four public and four private golf courses, and a movie theatre beside the 401.

    From Victorian homes and rural estate subdivisions, to a complete selection of brand new houses, there is a home to ft just about every lifestyle and taste. Milton also has one of the lowest tax rates in the GreaterToronto Area. Executive homes in Milton run around $325,000, Single family detached 3 bedroom homes run around $270,00 and condos, and condos average $240,000 (or rent from 1400 per month).
