  • Where
    This are is between the University of Waterloo lands and Highway 86 (Conestoga Parkway). This area has a number of industrial areas, mostly astride #86 and the railway tracks. These neighbourhoods have close access to downtown and U of W, as well as the Laurel Creel Conservation Area to the west.Lakeshore Village and Lakeshore North are communities just east of the Laurel Creek parklands. Glenridge and Lincoln Heights are east of downtown and are surrounded by creekside parklands. These communities also have ready access to Uptown Waterloo and the Conestoga Parkway.

    Schools
    University of Waterloo The community is served by 9 elementary schools, 5 high schools, and a public library. Post-secondary education is available at the University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University, and nearby University of Guelph, and Conestoga College, which has a Waterloo campus.

    Shopping
    This area of Waterloo is well served by vibrant retail areas along Weber and King streets, as well as Uptown Waterloo, and the St Jacobs Farmers Market just to the north.

    Recreation
    Waterloo Brick Brewery This part of Waterloo has 3 performance theatres, 1 cinema screens, a museum, and two public galleries, For athletes, there are lots of parks, and the Hillside Community Trail in Hillside Park, as well as the Laurel Creek Conservation Area and Reservoir, and Breithaupt Park to the south. Nearby Centennial/Waterloo Park is the city's recreational and festival centre. There is the Chicopee Ski Hill nearby on the city's SE corner

    Waterloo is mature and has a range of homes, both new & resale. Prices for Single family detached run $270,000 (2006 prices), Semi-detached residential $165,000, townhouses/row houses $185,000, and condominium units are averaging $150,000.
