Where
New Hamburg, about 20 km west of Kitchener-Waterloo, is a quaint place with the Nith River meandering through the middle of town. New Hamburg is large enough to provide normal amenities, but still providing a small town feel. Access to Kitchener is via Hwy. 7/8.
Schools
The community has a public and catholic elementary schools, and a public library, but teens must bus to a nearby high schools, Post-secondary education is available at the nearby Conestoga College, which has a Kitchener campus, as well as nearby at the University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University, and the University of Guelph.
Shopping
New Hamburg has modest shopping in its downtown core, but for major shopping, residents head into Kitchener-Waterloo.
Recreation
New Hamburg has a nice park and arena, and is host the yearly annual Mennonite quilt auction drawing huge crowds to enjoy this unique talent.
Homes
There are a mix of mostly single family homes and acreage homes.
