  • Where
    Guelph has about 106,000 residents enjoying 1,100 acres of parks and trails, as well as internationally recognized recreational, arts and cultural facilities. The city is served by two major hospitals.

    Guelph lies along the Speed River just north of the 401, with good highway connections along #6, as well as a major airport west of the community, and is served by VIA Rail and inter-city bus operators. Guelph has three hospitals.



    Schools
    The community is served by 37 elementary schools, 7 high schools, and 2 public libraries. Post-secondary education is available at the University of Guelph, and at Conestoga College, which has a Guelph campus, as well as nearby at the University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University,

    Shopping
    Guelph is well served by 3 significant shopping malls and plazas, and has a number of vibrant retail areas including Uptown Waterloo, .

    Recreation
    Guelph has 4 performance theatres, 4 cinema screen, 4 museums, and 8 public galleries. For athletes, there are a series of pathways along the Grand the Speed rivers, are 48 baseball diamonds, 23 public tennis courts, 3 indoor and 1 outdoor swimming pools, 5 public and 2 private golf courses. There is a large conservation area with lake just north of town.

    Guelph is mature and has a range of homes, both new & resale. Prices for single family detached run $245,000 (2006 prices), semi-detached residential $170,000, townhouses/row houses $200,000, and condominium units are averaging $160,000.
