Fredericton, New BrunswickThis area lies to the west of downtown, along the south bank Saint John River, and includes the western neighbourhoods of Garden Creek, Springhill, and Silverwood which all lie within the city limits.Schools Students in this largely rural-feeling area can expect a commute to school at all ages. Shopping The are has shopping at the intersection of Hanwell Rd and Prospect Street, up the hill a bit. To the east are the downtown Central Business District and the Boyce Farmers Market, and up the hill the various malls along Prospect Street, Recreation The area has much green space particularly along the Saint John River, including a recreational pathways connected to the Trans-Canada Trail. There are a number of small parks including Wilmot with both tennis and an outdoor pool) and Angelview along the river, plus the magnificent Odell park, with its Arboreteum, Botanical Gardens and forest trails. The area is home to the Fredericton Golf and Curling Club, and the Fredericton Exhibition, who's property is also home to the Fredericton Coliseum, the Capital Winter Club and the YM-YWCA. There is also the Small Craft Aquatic Centre, just west of the Westmoreland St Bridge, and a campground and small ski hill at the Springhill Brooks.
