These communities are located in the southeast corner of the city, centred around 8th St., east of Circle Drive.. The housing style varies dramatically throughout the neighbourhoods. Apartments are starting to spring up with demand increasing the prices. Disadvantages are the heavy traffic (especially along Taylor St. in the morning and evening rush hours) and it's a little way from downtown. This is compensated for by the many sports and entertainment facilities within the community. The area has a fire station and two churches.
Schools The community has four public and four Catholic elementary schools. There is a public high school and a library in the area, and the Catholic high schools is a short distance to the west. Shopping The most convenient shopping is the array of malls, plazas, shops right on 8th St., with small convenience malls scattered around the community. Recreation The neighbourhood is home to a recreation complex at Lakewood Park, with, an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, the Lakewood Civic Centre, and nordic ski trails around the Wildwood golf course. There is a running track in College Park at Herzberg Park beside the high school. Homes Housing styles vary dramatically throughout the community. Prices range from $56,000 to $516,000. Wildwood itself won't find anything over $182,000, while Briarwood tends to have higher priced homes. Community Map
