Nutana is located on the east side of the river, just south of downtown. The streets and avenues in the neighbourhood reflect the old city planning and grid system of straight streets. The streets are numbered, going north from Taylor Street East. Most of the homes are older constructed just after the Second World War, but there maintenance has been kept up very well as well as the landscaping. The neighbourhood is an excellent location for students attending the University of Saskatchewan. In fact, a lot of homes contain ready-made suites for students, and many of the larger homes belong to staff at the university. Advantages to the area are its convenience to downtown (within walking distance) and shopping areas, there are also six churches in the area.
To the south of the community are the neighbourhoods of Furdale and Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth is east of Idywyld Drive, and continues the pattern of grid-like streets, and Furdale is along the River, beside the expansive Diefenbaker Park. These communities are closer to the Exhibition Grounds as well as the golf courses to the immediate south.
Schools
The community has six public elementary schools, two Catholic elementary schools and two public high schools and one Catholic. University of Saskatchewan just to the north, and the French language Canadienne Francaise de Saskatoon is on Clarence Ave. There is also a public library on Taylor Street E.
Shopping
One of the best areas for shopping fanatics with downtown (Midtown Mall), 8th St. (Centre Mall and a lot more) and the Broadway Ave. shopping district all minutes away.
Recreation
Within the neighbourhood are a number of parks, most notably along the banks of the River. There is the Albert Rec Centre and the Lathey outdoor pool. Entertainment is located minutes away including the Broadway theatre, plus many options downtown. There are a number of museums close-by, including the Memorial Art Gallery and the Western Development Museum. The city's Emerald Casino is on the Exhibition Grounds, and the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club and the Willow are just to the south. There is cross country skiing in Deifenbaker Park, just west of the Exhibition Grounds
Homes
Most of the homes are older constructed just after the Second World War, but there maintenance has been kept up very well. Prices range from $62,000 to $240,000.
