Whitmore Park grew in the post-war expansion of Regina and has a mix of 40-year-old larger homes as well as bungalows, condominiums and executive-style homes. The community is quiet, with many winding streets to keep traffic to a minimum. In the north end of Hillsdale, there are some large residences, and there are some luxury condos along Wascana Centre offering great views of the lake and city. Whitmore park has some of the best home values in the city, with 3-bedroom homes with a garage running 100,000. The newer homes in the community are along Albert Street. Schools The community has three public elementary, two Catholic elementary, a public library on its western edge, Campbell High School and Dr Martin LaBoldus High School (Catholic). The University of Regina and SIAST's Albert South & Parkway campuses are all close-by. Shopping Shoppers generally use the malls conveniently on Albert Street, Southland Mall is right on the edge of the community, and includes the public library and a movie theatre, while Golden Mile Centre is to its north. Recreation The community has an outdoor pool, an ice arena, and to the south, a community garden. The community is dotted with small parks, and on its north and western edges adjoins Wascana a Centre and the Wascana Waterfowl Park. To the north is the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts and the McKenzie Art Gallery. Homes Homes in this area are mostly detached older homes, including bungalows, split-levels and 2-storeys.
