  • Cathedral Area & Crescents neighbourhoods lie just west of downtown. They are made up of mostly older homes in a well-treed area, and have the advantage of being close to both downtown and Wascana Park. Many of the homes have been recently renovated in the district, with several pockets of properties still requiring significant work. The Cathedral Area, so-named because of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, who's twin spires are the area's chief landmark. The area is rapidly becoming Regina's more interesting shopping and restaurant. The Crescents, nestled against the curving tree-lined Wascana Creek, has larger and older homes, though buyers should check for structural soundness.

    Schools
The community has two public elementary, a Catholic elementary, Sheldon Williams High School, and a public library. The University of Regina and two SIAST campuses are close by (St Johns and Albert South).

    Shopping
Shoppers generally head either to the downtown Market Square area or browse the quaint specialty shops along 13th Ave. Other malls are conveniently south on Albert Street just a few kilometres.

    Recreation
These communities are in the middle of a range of recreational opportunities. To the north of the area is Regina Exhibition Park, with its Queensbury Downs Race track and the Agridome, Taylor Field, and the Lawson Aquatic Centre. To the east is Wascana Park with the Wascana outdoor pool, The Royal Saskatchewan Museum and the ferry to Willow Island. The parklands along the Creek also include the Wascana Trail recreational pathway.

Homes Homes in this area are mostly detached older homes, with Cathedral having some apartments and rooming houses. House price range from $31,000 to $105,000 in Cathedral and $71,000 to 165,000 in Crescents.
