There is also one performance theatre and three cinemas in the community. There are 5 recreational lakes in Richmond Hill including Lake Wilcox, a popular location for windsurfers and other water enthusiasts The David Dunlap Observatory is the largest optical telescope in Canada, used as a research facility by the University of Toronto.
