Ontario's population is clustered in two areas: in southern Ontario primarily along Highway 401, and in the north along Highway 17, the Trans-Canada Highway.
The 401 connects a series of cities between Windsor and Oshawa, including London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton and Toronto, with the Niagara-St Catherines just to the south. The Trans-Canada connects Ottawa, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay.
