  • Recreational Trails run alongside the Neebing River watercourse This community is the area south of downtown and Arthur Street, and has many older homes, dating back to between the wars. This area is older, established, and dotted with small parks. The area is convenient to the Thunder Bay Hospital (McKellar General), though this hospital is due to close in 2002. Walsh Street takes you right to the city's airport.

    Schools
The community is established and is well-schooled. There are several elementary schools with both school boards, and the public and Catholic board high schools are in the neighbourhood, as is the public library.

    Shopping
The community is also close to the shopping at Victoriaville Mall and the Downtown South, north a bit to the Intercity Shopping Centre, where all the "big box" stores are.

    Recreation
To the north of the community are the International Friendship Gardens, The Centennial Conservatory, the Fort William Stadium, the NW Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, and the Chapples Golf Course There are recreational pathways on the green space adjoining the railway tracks taking you to the Westfort Playfield. For movies, residents head to either the Silver City cinemas or the Northland Cinemas in the Victoriaville Mall. The downtown is also home to many civic buildings including the Thunder Bay Historical Museum.
