  • Thunder Bay Community Theatre is right in the neighbourhood This community is west of the Confederation College and the Chapples Golf Course. It has lots of parkland, including the pretty Neebing River run through the south part of the community. This area was built up in the 1960s and 1970s by baby boomers, and is mostly single family housing, with some townhouses. The neighbourhood is close to the airport (infact the southern part of the community is under one of the runways), and is also convenient to the Hogarth-Westmount hospital and the George Jeffrey Children's Treatment Centre.

    Schools
The community is established and is well-schooled. There are several elementary schools with both school boards, and the public board high school is close-by. Catholic high school students are bussed southeast a few kilometres. The community is also adjacent to Confederation College and close to Lakehead University.

    Shopping
The area is surrounded by good shopping possibilities, with Northwood Park Plaza in the middle of the community, and many shops along Arthur Street, including the Arthur Street Marketplace (formerly the Thunder Bay Mall), just west of the Thunder Bay Expressway. The community is also close to the shopping east on Arthur at Victoriaville Mall and the Downtown South, or east of Harbour Expressway at the Intercity Shopping Centre, where all the "big box" stores are.

    Recreation
The community has several large parks and green space: Northwood Park and playfield are in the west. Several parks and a recreational pathway run beside the Neebing River. To the east of the community are the International Friendhsip Gardens, The Centennial Conservatory, the Fort William Stadium, and the NW Ontario Sports Hall of Fame. For movies, residents head to either the Silver City cinemas or the Northland Cinemas in the Victoriaville Mall.
