  • This community includes the neighbourhoods of Nickeldale, New Sudbury, Barry Downe and San Francisco. This community, north east of the downtown has homes dating back to the 1960s, with many newer homes built over the past 30 years. This area has many single detached and duplex houses, townhomes, as well has high-rise and low-rise apartments. There is a large senior citizens complex on the western edge, right beside the Taxation Data Centre.

    Schools
This area has three public elementary schools, seven Catholic elementary schools, plus a high school for each school board. Cambrian College is in the north-central part of the community, and the francophone College Boreal is on the western fringe, putting many post-secondary opportunities close-by.

    Shopping
Running through the middle of the community is Lasalle Boulevard, which has two large shopping malls. On the southern edge is the Kingsway, which has the larger "category killer" box stores (Chapters, Shoe Company and Costco). Liquor, beer, and grocery stores are relatively close-by. Along the southern edge of the community are Kingsway, and the Falconbridge Highway, which have many smaller shops and services.

    Recreation
To the north is the new Timberwolf Golf Club as well as the Maley Conservation Area with its trails for both summer and winter recreation. The area is dotted with smaller parks, many of which (8) have wintertime community-maintained outdoor skating rinks. The community is home to the Nickel district indoor swimming pool and also the Adanac Ski Hill, run by the city.
