These areas are along the Southwest Bypass of highway 17, the Trans-Canada Highway. The homes in this area are spread out, and tend to have either 5 acre lots or one acre lots along the water. The homes here tend to be executive style homes, but they lack municipal services like sewers and cable.
Schools
There is a mix of schools in the area, but most children will be bussed to and from their schools. Post-secondary institutions are all at commuting distances.
Shopping
For major shopping trips, locals head to the junction of Paris/Long Lake and Regent Streets, where there are several shopping centres and "category killer" box stores.
Recreation
To enjoy the beautiful outdoors, it may as simple as stepping out your door, however, pretty well all recreational facilities are a drive
away. The Countryside arena is most easily accessible, at the intersection of the Southwest Bypass and Long Lake Road. The beautiful Fielding Park on Kelley Lake is just south of Copper Cliff, and the city-run Lively Ski Hill is to the west in Lively. The city also maintains a extensive cross-country ski trails along Long Lake.
