This community overlooks West Humber River valley, and is accessible via Post Road off Bayview Avenue and via Lawrence Avenue E (which does not connect to the rest of Lawrence Avenue E at Bayview because of the Don Valley Ravine). The community is filled with homes in the $1 million + price range, on very large lots, most with cast iron gates, swimming pools, tennis courts and formal gardens (or all three). The area was first settled in 1827 but remained as farmland until the 1929 Bayview Bridge was built over the steep Don River Ravine and developer Hubert Daniel Bull Page built his own estate home in the community as an inspiration to other wealthy home builders. Though the community originally had equestrian bridle paths, they have long since been pave d over. Bridle Path residents shop the upscale York Mills Shopping Plaza, belong to the posh Toronto Granite Club, and educate their children at either the private Crescent School for boys or the Toronto French School. Schools The area is served by 1 elementary school, 1 Catholic elementary school, 1 public high school, and 4 private schools. The community is adjacent to York University's Glendon Campus. Shopping York Mills Plaza (Bayview Avenue & York Mills Road) is the most exclusive of Toronto shopping centres. Locals also shop at the Bayview Village Shopping Centre (Bayview & Sheppard Avenues) which features designer clothing stores and an excellent selection of restaurants. 
RecreationEdwards Gardens Park is just east of The Bridal Path, just south of Lawrence is Edwards Gardens with a rose garden, nursery, greenhouses, and home to Toronto Botanical Gardens. This park is the starting point for a 9 kilometre paved recreational trail down the Don River Valley, and east up the Taylor Creek Ravine to Warden Woods Park in Scarborough. To the south of The Bridal Path is Sunnybrook Park, with sports fields for cricket, field hockey, rugby and soccer, as well as equestrian facilities. 
HomesThe mansions in this community are among the largest homes in Toronto, and are built on very deep 1 to 6 acre lots. The homes south of Park Lane Circle are smaller, but still built with 100 ft frontages. The houses in the Bridle Path were built mostly in the 1930s, 50s and 60s, and a range of styles that reflects tastes at the time and the individual and eclectic nature of the owners of the homes being built. The community has two luxury condo developments: the 42 unit French chateau-inspired One Post Road, and the Chedington Place Condominiums on the north-east corner of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues overlooking the Don Valley Ravine.
