  • Bayview Village is a planned community, designed by Dr E.G. Faludi, prized for its proximity to the parklands along the Don River Valley. The area was farmland since the early 1800s, and in 1954 was developed into an urban community with countryside attributes, that combined homes at different price points. To add to the cachet, a number of the streets are named for famous race horses. By the 1960s the community was fully developed. The community is close to North York General Hospital (Leslie & Sheppard) and Bloorview Children's Hospital (N of Sheppard).

Motorists are a half hour from downtown. via Yonge Street or Bayview, and can access Highway 401 using the same thoroughfares. TTC users can catch east-west buses along Finch and Sheppard, which connect t the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway. The Sheppard Rapid Transit route connects the Yonge-Sheppard subways station with Don Mills. North-south rush hour buses along Bayview & Leslie connect to the Sheppard RT line. From the Finch terminal, transit users can catch GO buses north or south, and York Region Viva express buses to Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Markham,

    Schools
The community is served by 2 elementary schools, 3 Catholic elementary schools, 2 high schools, and a public library. Seneca College has a campus SE of Yonge & Sheppard. The community has quick access to University of Toronto and Ryerson University via the Yonge-University-Spadina subway route.

    Bayview Sheppard condos Shopping
The community is well served with the full service Bayview Village Shopping Centre (Bayview & Sheppard). There are a number of plazas along Sheppard, Finch and Leslie, and many stores and restaurants cater to the area's many Chinese residents. Along Sheppard Avenue are a number of big box stores, and an IKEA store.

    Bayview Village Park Recreation
The community is bisected by the East Don Parklands, with paved recreational trails in the Don Valley and in several of the community's ravines. The North York YMCA (Sheppard & Bayview) has both fitness and swimming facilities. There is a multiplex cinema at Bayview Village.

    Homes
Bayview Village's streets wind along the high elevations overlooking the Don Valley ravines that hare well forested. Most homes were built between 1954 and 1964 and include bungalows, split-level houses, and some larger Georgian Revival-style homes. Along Leslie are affordable condominium townhouse communities. Homes prices here are in the low to high-medium price ranges
