  • Brampton is the community north of Pearson Airport and the 407 and west of the 427. The community is roughly bisected by the 410, with old "Brampton" to the west and old "Bramalea" to the east. Once a quiet town, now with a population exceeding 350,000 people, Brampton is now the seat of the Peel Region government and administration. The community is served by three GO Stations: Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea.

    Schools
    There are 97 elementary schools and 7 secondary schools, as well as 3 libraries. The community is serviced Sheridan College in Brampton and Humber College just to the southeast.

    Shopping
    The community has significant shopping, with many malls and shops clustered along Queens Street. Steels Ave and Bovaird Drive also have a number of malls and stores.

    Recreation Brampton has lots of live theatre, with the Lester B Pearson Theatre in Bramalea, the Heritage Theatre in Brampton. For movies, Brampton has a number of movie theatres and multiplexes. Brampton has a number of parks, with recreational trails running the length of east and west branches of Etobicoke Creeks. There are also seven golf courses in the community. For the younger set, there is lots to do in the city's parks, particularly Loafers Lake, Heart Lake Conservation Area, Professor's Lake (with beach!) and Chinguacousy Park, with multiple athletic facilities and a ski hill. Just to the southeast is the huge Wild Water Kingdom waterpark.
