Timberlea - Halifax neighbourhoods

Timberlea is an affordable residential area on the fringe of Halifax, a 20 minute commute off #103 highway exit 3 to the St. Margaret's Bay Road, just past Bayers Lake Park. It has become one of Metro's most popular residential communities for young families.

Schools

A beautiful new school was recently built in nearby Beechville Estates and Ridgecliff Middle School is one of the nicest school facilities in the metro area.

Shopping

Close to excellent shopping in Bayers Lake.

Recreation

There is a reasonable size lake, Governor's Lake, in the area where swimming and boating can be enjoyed in summer and some skating in winter.

Homes

There is a wide range of housing available in the area. There is everything from affordable semi-detached to some larger executive type homes. New housing is currently available in this area, with several subdivisions such as Glengary Estates, Timberlea Village, Greenwood Heights, Governor's Glen, Beechville Estate (built next to the new Beechville school) and a new golf course community has been recently approved.
