[ Other Neighbourhoods | Neighbourhoods Map ] This is the mainly rural area along the Conception Bay Shore north of South Conception Bay, and includes The Town of Paradise, as well as St Phillips and Portugal Cove. These communities are characterized by low density housing along the main roads, either along the coast or connecting to St John's. Many homes in Paradise are on serviced lots, while the homes along the coast towards St Phillips and Portugal Cove are on unserviced lots. Schools The community has elementary school sin Paradise and in Portugal Cove. Shopping These is a mall off Topsail Rd at McNamara, just south of Mount Pearl, otherwise most major shopping is done in Mount Pearl or in St John's. Recreation Parkland exists around most ponds in paradise, including a large park at Bremigens Pond, There are also large parks set aside at Topsail Beach, along Horse Cove Brook, at Rainbow Gully and St John's Rotary park on the Thorburn Rd to St Phillips, and at the Voisey's Brook Recreational Area on the Indian Meal Rd betwen Portugal Cove and Torbay. There also the ferries to Pearl Island, with its attractions, leaving from both Portugal Cove and St Phillips. The Newfoundland passes through Paradise alongside several of the ponds, connecting it to St John's Community Map
