This is the part of St John's between the Grand Concourse Walkways on both sides of Mundy Pond and Mount Pearl to the South, along Kenmount Rd and West for Cornwall Heights. This area also includes the Southlands developments underway in 4 phases south of the #2 Pitts Memorial Drive, including the communities of Petty Harbour, Gould, Kilbride, Shea Heights, Cornwall Crescent.

The Southlands development was added to the City of St Johns about 15 years ago to expand the housing base, and wraps around the southern edge of Mount Pearl. The first of four phases begin at the #3 Howlett Memorial Dr, with Phase 2 west of Ruby Line and Phase 3 east of the #1, and Phase 4 underway west of the #1 around Torbaymans Pond.

    Schools
This area has 7 public elementary schools, and 3 Catholic elementary schools and is serviced by Beaconsfield HS in the public system and St Bride's College in the Catholic system. Memorial University and Cabot College are close by to the north.

    Shopping
The area is serviced by the Village Shopping Plaza in the south and the Avalon Mall, the province's largest, to the west. The downtown shopping district is closely accessible. There are also lots of fast food restaurants along Topsail Rd.

    Recreation
The area is bounded on the north by the Mundy Pond portion of the John's' Grand Concourse Walkways network and on the east by the Waterford River pathway which connects to Bowring Park (with its ampitheatre) and forms part of the Newfoundland T'Railways system. The city's movie theatres are close by in the Avalon Mall and in Sobey's Square in Mount Pearl. The nightlife on George Street is readily accessible. Horseracing is close by in Goulds, about 10 km away.
