In Canada, Career and labour market information, and assistance to job seekers (including the unemployed) in the job market is handled by a federal government department, Human Resources Development Canada ("HRDC").
While HRDC provides agregate information (like national and regional unemployment statistics, they also provide regular reports on each of the job markets around the country, to provide assistance to employers seeking special skills as well as to job seekers (who may need to relocate to find the kind of job they want at a salary they require).
