South Surrey/Crescent Beach is a broad community bordering the U.S, lying 40 kilometres from downtown Vancouver. The area’s beaches and rural natural beauty attracts both young families and retirees. Commuting into Vancouver is north via King George highway (136 Street) to Highway 1, or west via Highway 10 to Highway 99. From the King George SkyTrain Station, in North Surrey, it is a 35 minute ride into downtown Vancouver. The community is about 40 minutes (non-peak) from Vancouver International Airport. Homes Homes in South Surrey and Crescent Beach run $578-840,000; townhouses can set you back $306-333,000; while waterfront properties or those with a view typically cost $1-2 million and up. Crescent Beach is a quiet waterside village full of beachside cottages that offer easy access beaches, beautiful sunsets and several golf courses.. The area also has ranch home and split-level detached homes. New executive and senior-executive houses are being built on wooded or waterfront properties. Shopping There are a number of shopping centres in Surrey, the larger ones in the north, closer to the SkyTrain stations. Recreation Surrey has more than 16 gold courses and driving ranges, 6 of them in South Surrey. The City has more than 3,000 acres of park land, combining passive recreation, nature trails, and sports like swimming and tennis. South Surrey has its own Athletic Parks with a variety of sports facilities. Beaches are easily accessible at either Crescent Beach, Ocean Park and White Rock.
