  • These communities are on the north shore of the Inlet, and lie on a gentle slope up the mountain. This neighbourhood is built around Inlet Park and Port Moody's new City Hall and recreation centre at Inlet Park. The Inlet lies along Ioco Road, overlooking Shoreline Park, the Heritage Mountain community shares its name with its main street. Part-way up the hill are the neighbourhoods of Twin Creeks and Sentinel Hill. This community is now reaching completion of development and it is anticipated that there will be some traffic calming features added to area roadways.

    Shopping
Shopping is clustered around Heritage Mountain Shoppers Village, with more shopping to the east in Coquitlam along the Barnet Highway.

    Schools
The community is served by two elementary schools and the Heritage Woods Secondary school. Douglas College's Coquitlam campus is just to the east and Simon Fraser University is a significant commute to the west.

    Recreation
Bert Flinn Park (Heritage Mountain & David) is a mountain bikers' paradise with 138 hectares of largely undeveloped parkland, with extensive unmarked trails along early 1900s logging roadbed, and an off-leash dog walk The 3.8 hectare Rocky Point Park has hiking trails, a newly renovated spray park, a skate park, a bike trials park, a playground, a picnic shelter, a boat launch and a recreational pier. The City Hall / Library / Community Theatre, and the Social Recreation Complex are located in this neighbourhood. In 2008, Port Moody has renovated its recreation complex to include an Olympic size ice rink, this new facility will have an indoor running track, a state-of-the-art gym, a curling rink and an athlete's lounge.

    Homes
This "forest interface" neighborhood is predominantly single family houses. The Heritage Mountain neighbourhood has been recently developed and has a high number of families with school age children, many of whom either walk to schools or are driven there by parents, creating very busy residential streets at start & end of school days.
