  • Kerrisdale developed about a hundred years ago, when a streetcar line was built connecting Vancouver's downtown with Richmond. The community, between Blenheim & Granville streets, and 41st Ave down to Southwest Marine Drive. still has many period homes dating back to that time, even though the street car has long ago disappeared. The neighbourhood is full of quaint wooden houses on tree-lined avenues, and it has a vibrant shopping area with rick sidewalks, centered around West 41st Avenue and West Boulevard.

    Homes
This is a stable and affluent community single-family homes some from the early 1900s, with a post WWII growth spurt. Kerrisdale also has 50 named heritage structures in a variety of styles. There are a smaller number of rental units, apartments and condos in the neighbourhood.

    Shopping
Kerrisdale has lots of smaller shops, boutiques, services and restaurants along West 41st Ave, with more restaurants along West and East Boulevards. The nearest mall is Oakridge Centre (Cambie & West 41st Ave)

    Recreation
The community has a number of parks scattered throughout, , and has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and two golf courses (McCleery, Marine Drive) alongside the Fraser River. The neighbourhood is close to the Pacific Spirit Regional Park on the UBC Endowment Lands

    Schools
The community is served by 3 elementary schools, Magee Secondary School and a public library. The community is very close to the University of British Columbia campus, and Langara College is a kilometer to the east.
