  • Surrey's oldest village, Cloverdale is a middle-income community with an attractive, shop-filled main street. It is home to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds which hosts the Cloverdale Rodeo, Canada’s second biggest rodeo. The neighbourhood borders on agricultural flatlands and numerous ranches. If you are not working close by, expect significant commuting along the busy Highway 10 (56 Avenue). Commuting into Vancouver is north via Highway 1A (Fraser highway) or King George highway (136 Street) to Highway 1, or west via Highway 10 to Highway 99. From the King George SkyTrain Station, it is a 35 minute ride into downtown Vancouver. The community is about 40 minutes (non-peak) from Vancouver International Airport.

    Homes
    Homes in Cloverdale run $300,000-500,000; condos from $183,000-218,000; and farmhouses–$600,000-850,000.

    Homes are predominantly older split-level detached homes, with many ranch homes and bungalows, and some older wood-frame farmhouses with acreage. The Clover Valley Station is a new small-lot development building affordable power-smart homes in heritage styles.

    Schools
    Surrey has 92 elementary schools, and 17 secondary schools (with more opening each year). There are 23 independent schools and several adult and continuing education facilities. At the post-secondary level, Surrey has two campuses of Kwantlen University College (with a new campus being planned for Cloverdale). Trinity Western University is in nearby Langley, and BC institute of Technology and Simon Fraser University are in nearby Burnaby.

    Shopping
    Cloverdale Rural Subdivisions along Highway 15 There are a number of shopping centres in Surrey, the larger ones in the north, closer to the SkyTrain stations. Cloverdale has a quaint shopping district that meets most needs, plus a cluster of antique shops.

    Recreation
    Surrey has more than 16 gold courses and driving ranges. The City has more than 3,000 acres of park land, combining passive recreation, nature trails, and sports like swimming and tennis. Cloverdale has its own Athletic Park with a variety of sports facilities.
