This community is east of West Edmonton Mall (on 17-th St), and between 100 Ave on the north and 87 Avenue to the south, and west of 149th Street. The community, which includes the neighbourhoods of West Jasper Place, Glenwood, Sherwood, Jasper Park, Meadowlark Park, and West Meadowlark Park, is relatively close to downtown using Stony Plain Rd and Jasper Ave. Many of these homes date back to the 1960s with lots here are smaller than usual, but well landscaped and the homes are well-constructed. On the southwest corner of the community is Misericordia Hospital, one Edmonton's largest.
Schools This communities have six public elementary schools and four Catholic elementary schools, as well as a Public Board's secondary school and a Separate School's high school. The public library is on the east side of 156th Street, just north of the Meadowlark Park Shopping Mall. Shopping Retailing in the area is dominated by West Edmonton Mall (the world's largest, with 800 stores & services) to the west, though the smaller Meadowlark Park is popular for the speed of getting in & out. Recreation West Edmonton Mall, on the western edge of the community dominates area recreation. There are three multiplex cinemas, and indoor amusement park (the world's largest), a wave pool and waterslide(the world's largest), indoor mini golf, and lots more, all surrounded by (the world's largest) parking lot. There is an indoor arena just to the east of 149th Street on the northern end of the community. Community Map
