The communities pf Grovenor and Glenora lie between Groat Road generally and 149th Street, and north f Stony Plain Rd & 102 Avenue (though some tonier streets are south of 102nd and overlooking a bend in the North Saskatchewan River). The communities are best known as home to the Provincial museum and Government House. These communities overlook the Ramsay and MacKinnon Ravines and provide stunning views of the river valley and the University on the opposite side. The southernmost streets, on the edge of the river valley and the ravines, St Georges, Tweedsmuir and Wellington are well-treed.
Schools
These communities have three public elementary school, a Catholic elementary school and has Archbishop MacDonald Secondary School, with a public school high school a mile to the south. The University of Alberta is accessible via Groat Road Bridge.
Shopping
The local shopping mall is Westmount Shopping Centre, the largest in this part of Edmonton.
Recreation
Coronation Park is on the north corner of the area, and is home to an ice arena, an indoor swimming pools, and the Edmonton Odyssium. Bike and recreational paths to the river run down two of the ravines through the area. Victoria Golf course (on this side of the river) and Mayfair Golf & Country Club (on the other) are easily accessible via Groat Rd.
