These communities are nestled between 149th Street to the west and the River Valley to the east. Crestwood, Parkview, and Laurier Heights have some lovely ravine communities, with houses generally dating back to the 1950s and early 1960s.

    Schools
This communities have six public elementary schools and four Catholic elementary schools, as well as a Public Board's secondary school and a Separate School's high school. The public library is on the east side of 156th Street, just north of the Meadowlark Park Shopping Mall.

    Shopping
Retailing in the area is dominated by West Edmonton Mall (the world's largest, with 800 stores & services) to the west, though the smaller Meadowlark Park is popular for the speed of getting in & out.

    Recreation
Sir Wilfred Laurier Park, which runs along the eastern edge of the community, offers a lot of recreational green space. The Storyland Valley Zoo (inside the Park) is accessible from Buena Vista Rd, at the southern end of the community. There is an indoor arena just to the east of 149th Street on the northern end of the community. West Edmonton Mall, about a mile to the west of the community dominates area recreation. There are three multiplex cinemas, and indoor amusement park (the world's largest), a wave pool and waterslide (the world's largest), indoor mini golf, and lots more, all surrounded by (the world's largest) parking lot.
