[ Neighbourhood Map ] This area, east of 50th Street/ Manning Drive, north of the Yellowhead Highway (#16) and east of the River, features newer communities with more relaxed family-oriented living. The community is close to the Clareview LRT station (for those in the north) and Belvedere LRT station (for those further south), giving it relatively quick access to downtown. The community is close to the Yellowhead Trail (#16) and #16A south, giving it good access to other parts of Edmonton. The neighbourhoods in this area include (from south to north) Homesteader, Overlanders, Canon Ridge, Kernohan, Belmont, Sifton Park, Clareview, Hairsine, Bannerman, Kirkness and Fraser. The area has a mix of single family and duplexes mixed with a variety of condominiums, townhouses and apartment complexes. Schools The community has 10 public elementary schools and 2 Catholic elementary schools, with the high schools for both school boards in the Londonderry area. Shopping Shopping in the area is at the Clareview Town Centre, new Belmont Town Centre strip mall in the middle of the community. A little further away are the Londonderry Mall to the west, and the Abbottsford Shoppers Mall to the south. Recreation The area has large areas of parkland, including a ravine leading down to Hermitage Park along the river. The area is criss-crossed by recreational trails, which lead to the River Valley Pathway system. The Clareview Rec Centre features and indoor ice rink. The neighbouring Clareview Town Centre includes a Cineplex Odeon theatre. Across Yellowhead Trail is the Rundle Golf Course, and across the River (via the Yellowhead) is the Hidden Ridge Ski Area and the Strathcona Provincial Park. BR> Community Map
