Neighbourhood Map 
This area, just to the southeast of downtown provides an established community with some great views of the downtown skyline. The neighbourhoods that are close to the River include Strathearn and Cloverdale. Other neighbourhoods are clustered around the Mill Creek Ravine, including Bonnie Doon, King Edward Park, Avonmore, Agryll, Hazeldean and Ritchie. A little further southeast are the relatively flat areas of Ottewell and Kenilworth. This area has easy access to the downtown, via three different bridges, though they get backed up a bit during the rush hour. Homes in this area tend to be smaller homes, many dating back to the 1920s though the 1950s, and many of the homes have been recently renovated.
Schools The community has 14 public elementary schools and 3 Catholic elementary schools, with two high schools for the Public Board and two Catholic high school in the community. Shopping The area has a good-sized shopping mall, Bonnie Doon in the middle, and the western neighbourhoods border on the trendy Old Strathcona part of Whyte (82nd) Avenue. Recreation The area has large areas of parkland along the community's northern edge alongside the River, which include Gallagher Park beside Cloverdale Park, the Muttart Conservatory, the Edmonton Ski Club, the Mill Creek Ravine (which runs into Argyll Park) and Queen Elizabeth Park. The area's parks are criss-crossed by recreational trails, which join with the River Valley Pathway system. There area an indoor pool an indoor ice arenas in the community, as well as the Argyll Velodrome (in Argyll Park). When the summertime comes and "Festival Season" hits Edmonton, this community is close to the action, without being right in the middle of it. Community Map
