View to downtown and mountains from Crescent Heights These two communities lie on the North Hill between 10th Street NW and Edmonton Trail NE. Crescent Heights is one of Calgary's oldest residential communities, with some homes dating prior to its annexation in 1911. Rosedale is a similarly old community. The area is primarily single family detached dwellings. The most expensive homes in the area are those closest to the edge of the escarpment, along Crescent Road, which have stunning views of downtown. There are several expensive low-rise condominiums east of Centre Street overlooking the Bow River, and some less expensive apartments further north. The area has fast access into downtown using 10th Street, Centre Street, and Edmonton Trail. It also has relatively fast access to the mountains via 16th Avenue, on its northern edge.

    Schools
The area has a public school and a high school.

    Shopping
There are many stores along 16th Avenue and along Centre St N, which are the area's main thoroughfares. Area residents often head either to North Hill Mall or downtown for serious shopping.

    Recreation
This well-treed neighbourhood has a number of small parks, though the recreational focus is the river valley, connected by a number of recreational pathways to the community. There is a curling club just north of Princes Island and the downtown YMCA is just south of the park. For movies and live theatre, residents head downtown.

    Homes
The community is mostly single family homes in a range of styles, ranging from older pre-WWI homes to recently built houses. Executive homes are typically closer to the hillside overlooking the Bow River and downtown.
