    Monterey Park is located north of the Trans-Canada Highway (16 Ave NE), and east of 68th Street. This neighbourhood extends past 32nd Avenue right up to McKnight Boulevard (48th Ave).

    Schools
    There are no schools within Monterey Park.

    Public board pupils attend Stanley Jones Elementary in Regal Terrace, Sir John Franklin Junior High in Mayland Heights and James Fowler High in Tuxedo.

    Separate board students go to St. Rupert Elementary and St. Rose of Lima Junior High, both in Rundle. High school students attend either Bishop McNally in Falconridge or Father Lacombe in Radisson Heights.

    Shopping
    Shopping centers around Monterey Square, on the northeast corner of 68th Street and 16th Avenue, with a Calgary Co-op, a Macdonalds, and other stores and services. The nearest big shopping centre is the Sunridge Mall and the 36th Street NE shopping area.

    Recreation
    The community is connected to the city's bike pathway system. There are also a playground and ball diamonds located on a future school site. The community centre has tennis courts, ball diamonds, a toboggan hill and a soccer pitch. Village Square Leisure Centre, just south on 52nd Street in Pineridge has an ice rink and wave pool. The Don Hartman Sportsplex, to the north in Coral Springs, contains a gym and two ice rinks.

    Homes
    Genstar began the development in the early 1990's, and will eventually contain about 4,000 residents. Homes here are built by Broadview, Elite, Nevada, Gemcraft, Point Grey, Riverdale Homes, Stepper. There is a trailer park east of Bourroughs Manor NE.
